Is a dedicated healthcare professional with a rich background in complementary medicine and mental health. Holding both a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru and MD (Yoga and Rehabilitation) from Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (S-VYASA), she brings a holistic approach to her practice. Dr. Promila Choudhary's career spans over a decade, during which she served as the Course Coordinator for the M.Sc. Department of Distance Education from June 2013 to April 2022. In this role, she not only managed administrative duties but also took on the responsibility of providing yoga therapy training to enrolled students. Additionally, she provided guidance to 300 postgraduate students in their research endeavors, contributing significantly to their academic and professional growth. Since April 2022, Dr. Promila Choudhary has served as the In-charge of the Department of Psychiatry at Arogyadhama, where she continues to demonstrate her expertise in mental health care. With extensive experience in counseling patients with various psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders, she has earned a reputation for her compassionate and effective approach. Beyond traditional psychiatric care, she has also worked with individuals facing psychological issues such as family discord, couple counseling, and interpersonal relationship challenges. Her special interest lies in integrating ancient wisdom texts into her counseling practices, further enriching her ability to provide holistic and personalized care to her patients.
